Just finished my 5 step wax process on the ST and it turned out great.
My process:
1 Tape off plastic where it abuts the white paint (thats alot of tape!)
2 wipe down with mineral spirits to loosen up/remove tar spots (sides and tailgate)
3 clay bar (the whole truck)
4 3M perfect it III Finishing polish with 8" orbital buffer (sides, tailgate, & hood)
5 Finished it with Turtle wax Ice
This is the first time I've used the Ice wax and I went with it because you can go right over the plastic. I've been thinking of finding something better then armor all for the plastic since that washes right off and it did freshen up all the plastic.
I used to use Meguires paste wax but you really had to watch it around the plastic. I still taped it off today because of the polish and buffer application.
The challenge for me is the little rust dots that appear after winter, they are a bitch to fully remove. I'm thinking of getting a smaller polisher (3-4 inch) to help in the tighter area.
Anyway no pic because it's white and overcast right now so you really wouldn't be able to tell I did anything from behind a computer screen.
