Just finished my 5 step wax process on the ST and it turned out great.

My process:

1 Tape off plastic where it abuts the white paint (thats alot of tape!)

2 wipe down with mineral spirits to loosen up/remove tar spots (sides and tailgate)

3 clay bar (the whole truck)

4 3M perfect it III Finishing polish with 8" orbital buffer (sides, tailgate, & hood)

5 Finished it with Turtle wax Ice

This is the first time I've used the Ice wax and I went with it because you can go right over the plastic. I've been thinking of finding something better then armor all for the plastic since that washes right off and it did freshen up all the plastic.

I used to use Meguires paste wax but you really had to watch it around the plastic. I still taped it off today because of the polish and buffer application.

The challenge for me is the little rust dots that appear after winter, they are a bitch to fully remove. I'm thinking of getting a smaller polisher (3-4 inch) to help in the tighter area.

Anyway no pic because it's white and overcast right now so you really wouldn't be able to tell I did anything from behind a computer screen.

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant for all of the plastic and vinyl trim and rubber. It isn't "greasy" like Armor-All, doesn't wash off/run in the rain, and leaves a nice finish. Plus, if you get a little on paint or glass, you just buff it right out. I also use it on all of the plastic/vinyl/leather in the interior too. It's great stuff. A little more expensive than Armor-All or similar products, but well worth it in my opinion.

I actually use it on all my vehicles, including my RV/motorhome and my show Mustang.

What I said, "Anyway no pic because it's white and overcast right now so you really wouldn't be able to tell I did anything from behind a computer screen."

I use 303 on my vinyl tonneau but it's kinda pricey so that's all I use it on. Meguier's Tire Shine on the tires and sometimes the trim, Mother's Back To Black on the trim.

I had my son's Mustang in the local Memorial Day parade. First wax this year. Clay bar, colored black wax, then the NASCAR race was red flagged so I hit it with a coat of this locally made show car wax called RivStar that my uncle hooked me up with. Car is 13 years old and has mostly original paint.
