I just got my sub, box and amp installed yesterday

JL audio W0 10" sub in a probox 130.00 shipped

(the box itself costs 127.00)

Alpine MRD series 300W (100W @4 ohms) 45.00 shipped

installation@ a local shop: 75.00 including a line output converter

(taps into speaker wires on back of head unit to give you RCA outputs)

I'm happy with it so far, the bass isn't so loud that it rings your ears...just enough to compliment the music...I will get some pics up as soon as I get them

one note if you ever do this, the probox fits under the passenger rear seat...I am gonna have to add about 3/4inches of washers under each seat bracket (2) so that the box will snug up under the rear seat and also so that I can raise the box about 1/2 inch from the floor, it feels like the sub right at the point of touching the floor

will adding a little space under the box help the bass escape from the area, seems like it's being trapped underneath the box cause there is no room to breath..... JD can you chime in on this?...or any other audio GURU

question # 2

the line out put converter doesn't have any adjustments, do the ones with adjustments allow you to "boost" the signal or just turn it down..I have to set my fade setting 3/4 to the front to get the sub to start hitting, I'm sure I prolly need a more powerful 4ohm stable amp...this is a 2 ohm stable amp....

Give the sub time to break in, don't just start pounding away at it. I bet it will be louder and deeper in about 2 weeks with normal use.

well the sub and box was used for 1 yr bought used from swap and sell,

what freq do you think is best to run at...80HZ it didnt hit enough, 100-110 hz seems more responsive

well I cut a 1x3 inch piece of wood and raised the pass rear seat 1/2inch the blocked the pro box up about 1/2 inch so the sub wasn't hitting and vualla I got bass!..I'm so happy with it now!.. cut the amp down to 90 hz and now I may still turn it down to 80hz

g. grimes- I'll have to drop by and let ya hear it man!
