Still a classic. I saw this going around in an email chain a while back.

What was uncanny was that a few weeks ago I was watching reruns of Dragnet and happened upon this episode. The guy that they're schooling in democracy is a fake intellectual who sells drugs to young schoolchildren and spins it as being a good thing. Not too far off the mark from a certain somoene.

A little more wisdom from SGT Joe Friday:

Another prescient Dragnet bit was one where some punks tell Joe Friday that he'd better retire ASAP as he represented the fusty old-school and that when the youth of California came of age they would scoff at Friday's laws and morality and make him the criminal, the outcast.

I think it was the episode where a group of punk kids rob stores to gain supplies to form a hippie commune on a coastal island but I'm not sure.

Either way, it came to pass. I find it weird watching this show and realizing that there was a time when California was the place in the USA, when it was still "golden" (and when LA had a professional football team).
