I ask this question on an earlier post but need additional info. Can the dealer give you the factory 5-Digit Entry Code from the VIN # or from reading the computer on the vehicle. The manual says to contact the dealer to obtain the code.

Probably, but of course they will probably charge you for the info.

They can plug in and give it to you. It literally takes moments. I have seen them do it for free and all the way up to $75.00.

You can also check ot ebay under truck auto parts/Explorer. There is a site that will download reset info for $20. I have not tried it as I have my factory code but it is worth a shot.

It is really easy to get on your own. Takes about 20 minutes if you are no good with tools. . .
