This is what you receive when you order the KKM kit. A performance cone filter (note the blue ring), the bracket for support , the Mass Airflow sensor adapter and all screws. The unit comes fully assembled, so all you need to do is remove the stock airbox and install the KKM filter following the directions provided. If you read the instructions, pay attention to how to get the bottom of the stock airbox removed. If you read, the install is only 15 minutes.
This is how the stock airbox looks in the vehicle. When you remove the airbox, you can see the small hole that the engine must breathe through. A K&N air filter is better than stock, but even K&N will tell you for best results to install the FIPK system (although they do not offer one for the ST), which is nothing more than what KKM ships.
This is what the KKM filter looks like installed. You may be able to see the bracket from the radiator support to the upper left bolt holding together the Mass Airflow to the adapter plate. It provides a nice, clean install that breathes better than stock or a K&N replacement filter. You can really hear the engine breathe at 3000 RPM's.
