Got the oil changed in the trac last night. They noted that the transfer case is leaking from the rear output seal/gasket. Is this hard to change at all? Anyone else seem to have this problem? It is on a '01 job 2. It appears to be a small leak right now as I may have 1 or 2 drops on the driveway.

Not a huge deal. Will require some decent quality tools as there is a nut in the middle of the yoke that is on there pretty good.

It is pretty straight forward though.

Remove the drive shaft, remove the nut in the yoke, tap the yoke off and the seal will be there in front of you.

Pretty much pry it out and tap the new one in and reassemble in the reverse.

I just went through this. And went through 3 seals before it was found that the yoke had a groove worn into it from the seal. Got a used yoke and a new seal and all is god as new.

It is a very easy project. Very easy..
