The check-engine light came on about the same time I started getting a rough idle when cold. Firestone shop checked it out for $80, told me that the problem was a leaky manifold gasket creating a low vacuum pressure and that Ford has an extended warranty that would allow me to get it fixed free. I've got only 24k miles on the truck.
Took it to the Ford dealer, and I asked them to also replace the tightener chain that was listed in the same extended warranty announcement back in 2000. They did both.
Is there anything else I should have done?
