Lift kit and Rims/tires?

Hello to all my fellow Sport trac lovers.



I would like to raise my st and get some new rims and tires, but i am not sure what parts i would need and what tires would be the best fit?

i know how i would like it to look, What do you think of a 3" raise of the body without touching the suspension, and hopefully some bigger rims and tires, compared to the stock ones. Some tires that look really meaty.

if any one has some suggestions and hopefully some pics to show, that would be cool.

Mine is a 2004 xlt 4x2, I am not interested in performance, just looks. but i dont want to compromise the handling and the ride too much.?



ps.. whats the deal with spacers do they make a differnce on the way the truck drives/looks would it damage anything?

i put the 3'' body lift on mine and love it. thats probably your best way to go. the suspension lifts for the sport trac are waayyyy over priced! performance accesories makes the body lift. you could also do a shackle lift/ torsion twist, if you didnt want to pay for the body lift ( or you could do both like im planning on doing )[Broken External Image]: i;ve got 33'' mud terrains. all the meat you could ever need lol. but you WILL have to do some trimming to make 'em fit.

hey what do you guys think about these tires? do you think they would be a good fit and would they fit without lifting the truck and keeping it stock height??

hey nice truck RYAN looks mean, what do you mean by trimming and how much did it cost for the lift package and how much to install roughly? just so i know how much dough i have to dish out. hey let me ask you guys how is the drive like does it change alot, is it a quite ride or do you hear alot of noise??? and if so does the noise bother you??

thanks JV. when i say trimming i mean that you are going to have to trim the fender/ wheel well area because the tires will rub when you turn. i paid close to 800 for the lift and to have it installed.with the lift on i didnt notice too big of a change, but once the tires went on there was a big change. the change depends on the tires you get... the more agressive the tire the louder/rougher the ride is. im running pro comp mud terrains. they are loud and you can def feel them rolling in the truck, especially at highway speeds. but the noise doesnt bother me. as far as your rim and tire choice... the rock krawlers are nice ( i have them on my truck) and affordable. havent heard of those tires. they should fit, but you may need to trim imn not sure.

hey Ryan thanks for the advice and the information, i am really interested in doing that to my truck. I wonder if I just put on the 31x10.5x15 without lifting up the truck would that still work?

and what parts and where di you order your lift kit from and can most mechanics install it?

ebay has the 3" body lift for about 250 thats where i got mine. i cranked the front tt up 3 inches its alittle rougher ride but i love the resemblance of a full size truck ride. for the rear i bought a set of air shocks for 70 dollars at autozone and inflated them to about 160 psi and that raised the rear about 3.5 inches. the rims are M/T 15x10 with 35x12.50/15 BF Goodrich Mud Tires. as far as installing the body lift i did it my self and it took a day and a half.:banana:

im also getting ready to lift my trac as well if anyone knows any kind of good brand for a body lift it would be helpful.

when i search ebay for the lift kit i cant find one for a sport trac, there is only the ford ranger should i keep looking?
