Lil Red or anyone else getting turn on thump

the reason you and others get "turn on thump" is due to the ford amplifiers using a 5volt turn on. to fix this you will need to install a 1k 1/4 watt resistor inline on the remote turn on. the resistor will act as a voltage limiter and drop the 12volt remote turnon close to ,if not exactly, 5volts (depending on tolerance percentage). once installed the "turn on thump" will be eliminated.

Is there any other advantage to doing this? I have the thump but the sound doesn't bother me enough to change it.

i do believe that it will prolong the life of the factory amplifier but im not 100% sure.
