I have found several, but not wanting to spend $129 or so dollars.

I am more than willing to spend $60 or so dollars for a decent product, anyone have a suggestion???

Thanks in advance.

Coastiejoe,

All of the external laptop batteries I have ever seen are very expensive. Years ago there used to be one on the market call Coast-to-Coast because it would last long enough to operate a laptop on a coast to coast flight (about 5 hours).

The other problem is that these batteries are about as large and as heavy as the laptop. A better choice might be to just get a spare battery for your laptop, and get one of those adapters that plug into the airline courtesy power that is getting more popular on most planes.

Rich, I have two spares and the I-go system that plugs into everything. But,,, many of the planes do not have the power port. Pretty much none of the Continental planes untill you get to the 757, 767 or the 777 series. Nor does Southwest. Out of Cleveland area, those are the two most popular airlines I fly until I get to another location and swap to another plane.

Good suggestion though.

The spare battery idea does work, but I have a minor issue to resolve. I am guessing????? that my internal Bios battery must be weak or no good. If i swap out my main battery and install another it loses its time and a few other things. If I have power connected to the laptop and swap the battery out, then no problem at all.

Also consider checking ebay for a second battery for your machine. I've found some pretty good deals on ebay for laptop batteries. Done well searching the web as well.

Well, for 1 pound and $70, I believe the external Xantrex solution looks good.

You do not need to remove the internal battery, just plug your AC cord to the inverter....

fer, your idea is looking pretty good for the money vs what I want/need it to do.

It lasts only 3 hours with the average laptop, but put that onto the 2 to 4 I get with my OEM battery that pretty well covers me for most everything I need.

Thanks, still looking to see what is out there though..
