just wondering what you guys know... i got offered a 6.5" in dash dvd player, 1000 watt sub and 3 12" memphis subs. he says when he got the subs that they were top of the line. i know i cant fit all three in the trac, but i'm sure i can fit one. however, he priced it all at a thousand dollars. do you guys think its worth it and how much do you think i could sell the other two subs off for? thanks. i'll try to find out more info about the stuff tomorrow like specific names and stuff. thanks guys.

What brand/model dvd player? Also, I'm assuming you meant "amp" instead of "sub" for the 1000watt correct? Memphis has great amps and their subs are decent as well.

Sounds like a heck of a deal though, just need to check the amp and dvd player. Let us know and we can help you out. Plus, if you can work a jig saw/router, glue, nails, etc. you can make your own box and put all three behind the seat.

That's a great deal if everything is in working condition. YOu may want to check that it's not "hot" equipment ripped out of somebody's parked car. If' it's all legit and working, I'd say go for it.

ok so i got some more information. i meant amp instead of sub, yes. haha it was late into the night and i had been up for waaaay too long. but anyways, it's all legit. i know the guy and he's more than well enough off to afford whatever he needs. nice guy, friend of mine. but anyways. it's a 1000 watt class d amp, not sure on the type of the subs besides they are 12". i'll find out more hopefully this weekend. the dvd player all he really said was that it was a memphis studio screen, 6.5".

i'm not handy at all, so building a box by myself is completely out of the question. though there's a car audio place in town i'll talk to and they should be able to help me out. assuming i only put one or two subs in the trac, do you think a used sub like that (memphis isn't exactly a huge brand) would sell for very much. it's in good condition, and i'm wondering how much i could sell it all off for and if it would be a better idea to sell it all off and get like jl sub's or something or just keep the screen. anyways, lots of possibilities floating around. feel free to interject some opinions. i'm sure you have them. haha thanks guys.

You may want to base your paying and/or sale price based on the following, prices are for new audio equipment.

1000 watt class D Memphis Amp -- about $400 to $500 new, a Memphis Car Audio 16-MCD1000 - Memphis 1100 x 1 Class D Subwoofer Amplifier sales for about $450.--

A lower class Memphis Car Audio type 15-MC124 - Memphis MClass 12" 400 Watt SVC Subwoofer about $115 to $160

A Memphis Car Audio 15-M3124D - Memphis 12" 600 Watt DVC Subwoofer max about $200

Memphis Car Audio 15-M3MOJO12 - Memphis Mojo 12" 1000 Watt Subwoofer max about $349

I don't recall Memphis making DVD players and I just checked their website, nothing on any video players from them.

A Pioneer model AVH-P5700DVD MP3 DVD Player 6.5"LCD Monitor goes for about $700

M,

In car audio, I've researched a lot of systems and been on a lot of forums ... trust me, the major brands (Infinity, Pioneer, etc.) are good but not the best. Memphis makes very good gear especially their amps ... the Memphis Belle is one of the top rated amps. Next, I've heard their subs and they're very nice and their speakers are good too, tweeters are a bit too bright for me though. Didn't think they made dvd players/head units either so can't speak for them. Overall, Memphis is a very good car audio company from what I've listened to in person and read on several audio forums.
