I disagree. I think it's probable that force was involved. If it were just the one assailant, then I might be more inclined to buy your theory. But the fact that two more assailants were necessary to make this happen leads me to suspect that force was involved. Like you, I can't prove it definitively--but also like you, you can't disprove it at this point either.
Shoot, in this case, it would have been better to die by getting stabbed with the knife in a struggle than to be castrated and almost bleed out from it.
I wholeheartedly disagree. It's always better to survive. One of the things they teach women in self-defense classes is that, when someone is attacking you, the most important thing is to always do whatever is necessary to survive it.

Sure--but anyone who thinks that there is any dishonor in being the victim of a sexual assault is absolutely clueless. (And let's face it--this situation, at its core, was a sexual assault.)
