It appears that article is basing their statistics on amount of money per claim?
I recently read another article (don't remember where), that said that luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW's Lexus, etc were the most popular cars for thieves to steal, but not sure if that was based on a count of vehicles stolen or $$$ claimed?
