Moving HDTV

Hey Yall,

I am in the process of moving an HDTV about 20 minutes down the road to a new place. I have to bring it up a flight of stairs at my old house, and up a flight of stairs and my new place. Any ideas on making this go as easy as possible? I just got done reading a forum about placing the TV on the side with no problems. How should I move it up the stiars? There has to be an easy way. Also when the Best Buy movers moved it into my house they had these straps that went under the tv and around their shoulders, and it took them 2 minutes to move it from the truck to my downstairs. Any idea on where I could get something like that.

You didn't say how big it is. I've moved many a tv in my day from 1969 when I got into the TV repair business. Just don't jar it when you move it. A hand truck can work sometimes if you can get one. Those moving men things that go under the feet work well when you are able to slide it in the house. Nothing beats two guys with strong backs. Sometimes you can use ropes with blankets around the set. You can turn it on it's side, but don't bump it. Good luck.

i would not layit down, even a small bump can damage.. try to keep it upright only...
