The interface seems pretty clean, and quicker than the old version. It has tabbed features much like Firefox. I'm playing around with it on my desktop before I decide whether to load it on the laptop.

Hey Nelson, keep us updated on your experiences with it. I was considering loading it, but hesitant to do so considering how much I'm on the 'net. Nervous about running into issues and losing my one main connection with the outside world! :)

I have been using it all evening, and it works much like Firefox. It works better in some ways, since Firefox doesn't work at some places I frequent. I miss the customization allowed with the Firefox plug-ins and "skins" though.

One cool thing for us older folks, is the "Zoom" feature which allows you to make everything bigger to allow our old eyes to see better.

Typical MS. Nothing innovative. Takes someone elses ideas and makes them thier own.

Tom

FireFox 1.5 just upgraded to it. A lot better than 1.0. Still some issues with it on some web sites, such as cbs.sportsline.com. Sometimes the browser will crash when browsing the site. IE shows layers better than FF though. So, a pain to get right when I'm updating my web site it looks different in IE compared to FF.

SST,

Check IETab, an extension for FF:

"IE Tab - an extension from Taiwan, features: Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox.

This is a great tool for web developers, since you can easily see how your webpage displayed in IE with just one click and then switch back to Firefox."

Also, I like it because I can see 2 different yahoo accounts on the same browser, one on FF and the other on IE tabbed, different cahce/cookies directories... :)

Opera is great for surfing text web pages. I perfer pictures though. Firefox and Opera both butcher my fav sites so I have no choice but to open them in IE. Something about frames, and images and message boards. I can't see some text in Firefox and don't see a lot of pictures in Opera. Just my experiance though. I put in about 7 to 9 hours a day in a web browser.

First issue found -- It appears IE 7 has hosed up my windows media player. :(

Grrr...I tried re-installing Windows Media, and it still doesn't work!

Nelson...

My media player got so screwed up that I ended up having to do an "Out of the box" restore on my laptop. Lost all audio. No matter what, could not get it back. It is a locked file so you can only delete it so far. Parts of it are hidden all over the many windows files.

I download a third party media player while I was trying to solve my issue. Found one that did everything I needed. But.... decided to restore my computer anyways as it had been about two years since I have owned it and I have tens of thousands of misc. files that were just taking up space and eating memory...
