MX Pants fit

I need to order some MX pants for my son and myself, but I need to know how they fit. Are they generally tight, loose, etc. I don't want to order something that's gonna fit like a bag nor do I want nut huggers either. Any suggestions?

I race mx and you dont want the pants too baggy but you need room to put pads on underneath. I usually wear a 32 in pants and wear a 36 in my mx pants made by No Fear. So if you get the No Fear brand dont buy the same size as you wear in jeans, but go up a size or two. I only wear that brand so I hope that helps. Remember rubber side down lol!!!

I wear Shift brand and the waist size has been accurate for me so far. Plus they are usually somewhat adjustable.
