My Parking Break Light Turns ON and OFF when driving... PLEASE HELP!

When I am driving my parking break light turns on and off. It just started last week and the parking break would turn on when i came to a complete stop and would turn off when I would accelerate for about 5 seconds. Now it is on more sporadically or sometimes its on all the time. Should I be worried about it? I dont have a lot of money so I can't get it checked out. Is there anything I could do to fix it? Thanks for your help!!!

check your emergency/parking brake cable in the rear brakes. My ST did the same, had a broken cable on the rear left. The cable would catch on the brake set up and trip the light. It was an easy, do it yoursef and cheap fix. Got a new cable from Autozone.

check your brake fluid. that is normally the reason for the the light comming on and off durring driving especially when braking and acceleration. thats when the fluid moves in the bowl.

Brake fluid. Your brakes might be getting thin.

Also, remove the LH trim panel (where the foot pedal is) and check the brake signal switch.

Mine did that in the same exact way. It was the brake fluid was low.
