Is there another place than Ford (at $199.00) that I can more reasonably upgrade my in dash navigation system?

Thanks

Benny

Benny, I am with you on this one... I have been searching this also. (We want to upgrade the Nav disc in our 06 Lincoln) Best I got was an offer for the $199.00 with free shipping if I order soon.

I Sent an E-mail to the company from the website but never got a response from them. I offered them $150.00 shipped, explaining that for $199 I can buy a brand new GPS with free map updates... Hey, It never hurts to ask. This may be why I got the offer in the mail for free shipping to order it at $199.00

You must have the cd in-dash system...I have not found any disc update either.

We have a 04 Expedition and don't need all 10 cd's. We only would like the southeast US.

Navtek is the vendor, unfortunately Ford socks it to the consumer, you have to buy the set.

Kinda sucks....Let me know if you come across any deals on these...

bought my wife a cheap stand alone unit which works quite well....

Not to promote piracy. But you can find torrent files(if you know what they are) online for the nav systems. For free. Didn't hear it from me.....

Its either the dealer or Navteq. Both charge $199 for the updated discs(I've alkready bought 2 updates from Navteq). Didn't know about torrent files(not sure how to do it), but you don't have much choice here. Good luck. Bob

I was able to get an upgrade off a torrent site, but it never works properly. Will work for a while then freeze up. I dont think the system likes the burnt dvd. I am in the same boat as everyone else here, and think that $200 for an upgrade dvd is ridiculous...

PS: Allmost forgot. You can get used discs off of e-bay. Current ones will still cost you, but the last version can be had for less. (I think i'm running the 9P version right now). Bob
