She likes to lock her keys in the car. I know they make this for the Sport Trac and all Ford motor cars for that matter. I am not having any luck on Ebay search. Does anyone know if there is a similar device for the Dodge Ram? It does have remote entry but not a keypad obviously. If I can find one it will solve all her problems and get me brownie points. LOL

I doubt there is one available.

Maybe get her a key to either wear around her neck or a spare in her purse.

Well what my boyfriend did for me b/c i am the same way is he taped a key underneath the bumper on the backside....it wasn't under the drivers side door though it was on the the back bumper on it was hidden...it has been there for a yr and it comes in handy like at the mall b/c i tend to forget to grab the keys out fo the ignitiona nd then i lock my doors....haha...but try that if you don't have any luck on finding what you want

You may want to check out Pep Boys, I've seen "universal" key pads that indicate they can be added to "any vehicle with remote entry". I just started seen them here in the Austin Pep Boys since they started to remodel thier interiors and add more stock. These "universal" key pads at least here in the Austin Pep Boys are in the area they have the alarms (i.e bull dog security) and the "universal" remote start kits.

Attach the remote to her cell phone. Or her compact. Or her purse. Or...

They never seem to forget those items...

Or--and I kid you not, I saw someone do this--get her two remotes, and have her wear them as earings. The gal I saw who had a small pair of key remotes hanging from her earlobes said that she liked the fashion statement (I'm guessing it's kind of like the 80's rappers who wore clocks around their necks), and insisted they were functional--one for her car and one for her fiance's car...

Lifted from a web site:

Lockout.

Lockout is the fastest growing cause of Emergency Road Service calls. This is partly because modern car locks are so efficient. Not only can you lock all the doors at once on many cars, the locks are so good that everyone but thieves has a difficult time defeating them. And high-tech locks often also are high-fragility locks. Forget about the bent coat hanger as savior.

Prevention is simple and cheap:

• Carry a spare key in your wallet or purse. Don’t keep it in a jacket pocket—jackets often are left in cars. And don’t try to hide it in a wheel well or beneath the floorboards. Give those thieves a little credit.

Speaking of credit, AAA members can get a free Credit Card Key. Bring your membership card and car door key to any district office, where a spare Credit Card Key can be made in less than a minute. The spare key is the size, shape, and thickness of a credit card, so will fit easily into a wallet or purse. Note that Credit Card Keys aren’t available for some high-security lock systems and some unusual vehicles.

• Get into the habit of locking your car door with the key. This ensures you have it with you when the car is locked up.

• Write down the key code number and keep it in your wallet or purse. A locksmith may be able to make a new key using the number. The key code number sometimes can be found on a sticker in the glove box, sometimes in the car’s owner manual, sometimes on a metal tag accompanying the key, or you can ask the dealer.

The only after market key pad avaible is made by Essex Electronic and sold buy the Mito Corperation. www.mitocorp.com

I had a similar issue and tried to make the Ford keypad work on a Madza MPV. They are not compatible. The Essex system is universal but the cost was over $300 uninstalled.

If the ignition key is a transponder key then you should get a spare cut and hide it under the truck. That's what I did for my wife's car. Even if a thief finds it he can only open the door, not start the vehicle.
