My ST won'y stay running without my foot on the gas. I opened the hood and I'm not sure where to start. The thottle cable is loose to start. How can I adjust this? Then where do I go from there?
 
The throttle cable will not cause it to stop running...

I almost bet the IAC motor is stuck or the common vacuum elbow has cracked....

The IAC is under the cover 4.0...

My IAC went too. Joycie, were we manufactored on the same day? First tranny now this too.



Glad you fixed yours, mine was around 250 or 300 at a dealer. Next time I will check the board first. :D


 
dAMN!! it DID it again! I let my truck sit overnight, and it had trouble starting this morning. I had to give it gas to get it going. Hmmm? What else could it be?:angry::angry:

ok, try this....

before you start it in the morning...

Turn the key on to the run position, but DO NOT start, Wait 5 seconds, repeat this 4 times, then start the truck.

IF it starts either your fuel pump is failing or your fuel filter is getting clogged...
