Neutral Tow Kit

Does anyone know what is different between a 2002 & 2003 Sport Trac in the transmission/transfer case.



I want to install a 1L2Z-7H332-AB Neutral Tow Kit on my 2002 so I can tow it behind my motorhome?



Is there a fix to make them the same?

I am not aware of any specific change pertaining to a reason the kit would not work. The only physical change I am aware of is the fact that the 02 has rear drums and the 03 has rear disk brakes. As a result, there may be a different drive shaft. This may be the issue if it is in fact different....

Good question. I don't know the answer. It does clearly say that the neutral tow kit is only for the 2003 and latter 4x4 Tracs.



Maybe they changed something in the tranny's or something. The drive shafts should be the same, the only difference between the rear drums and rear disks is the brake itself.
