Gents,

As promised...I took some better pics of the new Clarion VRX765VD head unit to show the "blockage" of the A/C vents. Not much of a problem at all, but some may consider this a reason not to buy a motorized screen for their ST. I also included some "other" pics for you to enjoy!

Most, or all of the STs have the wheels on the center vents, where you can turn off air flow to

them, No? May be inconvienient for you, as the driver, but it should protect your screen/

system from hot or cold air directly blowing on it and causing excessive heat build-up,

or condensation build-up with the a/c on.

(Wait, now that the pictures have loaded, completely, I see that you have the "Cutoff

Wheels", also)!

I'd still buy one!!!

nice looking Sport Trac, great job on the install.Did you run into any problems with it. I am wanting to replace my factory unit and would like to get something like that.

I find that if necessary, when you use the cut-off wheels it diverts the necessary amount of airflow to the driver/passenger side vents! Even if it didn't you don't have to keep the screen open...sounds just as good closed. But you are right, it does provide some protection from the heat with the A/C blowing cold air directly onto the back of the screen.

When it comes to stereo installs...if it isn't speakers I don't touch it! I had C.C. install my deck since they installed my old Alpine...

BTW, anyone interested in purchasing a used Alpine CDM-9821? If there's any interest I will post pics later! Thanks!

Big D...Thanks!
