Ford anyone paying attention, that's 9.6 million vehicles recalled this year so far for this switch. That's a lot. Probably more vehicles then they'll make this year.

Surprised its only 01-02. Had to get my 04 fixed with same problem.

F= Found

O= On

R= Road

D= Draggin'

This one works for me. :)

A buddy of mine had

F-- For

O-- Off

R-- Road

D-- Destruction

on his F150 4x4

now i sure someone will have it put on their trac!

Looks like Caymen can't use his "toyota recalled more vehicles than they built last year" line anymore. Well, I guess he can, but we can throw this one back at him. :lol:

So for those of us who fixed it ourselves and kept our receipts, can we expect to be reimbursed?

Yes, Ford will reimburse you the cost of the part you got. If you paid a shop to replace it, they would pay the total bill.

ive got an 01 sport trac but the cruise control seems to be fine...

my friends acura got recalled and they detailed his car...that would be nice :)

My local Ford dealer cleaned up my car too when I took it in for transmission service.

Chris, this isn't about the cruise not working, this switch gets overly hot (or causes another part to get hot, I don't remember). After you've parked your ST and walked away it might burst into flames. At least, that's what the F-150 recall for the cruise switch did.

If it is the same as the F-150 recall, it takes 5 minutes to do the job. My friend was a Ford Service Manager (but always drove Chevys and works at the Chevy dealer now) and he came and did the change in my driveway with a crescent wrench.
