My Sport Trac is a '07 4x4 XLT, first vehicle I have bought and I love it.
Has an issue where it slams into reverse, engine bay also gets ridiculously hot sometimes
 
Welcome, Good info here but slow. Check the trans fluid level and condition, These trucks are old..... things don't last forever any more. check coolant level, check belt and fan operation, check fan and service history.
