I am looking for suggestion for my next performace MOD.

Current MODS in order of completion

K&N FIPK

Magna flow muffler ( not complete kit)

SCT XCALII

ZABTEC modified TB

Screamin Deamon Coil pack

JBA wires

Would getting the full CAT back exhaust make much of a difference? For those of you that have helped in the past thanks, now I want more.

I considered the pulley MOD but considering I have on 04' with over 110K do not think it would be a good idea especially since I am in CA and usually have an invertor with laptop, GPS, and camera charger.

JBA Headers, are they worth it?

I would finish off the exhaust. A full cat back would definitely make a difference because you would get larger pipes, hopefully mandrel bent and that will give better flow. If you still have the resonator on there just removing that would help.

I would also recommend the Random Tech Y-Pipe. This will really open up the exhaust. You can even go with the High Flow cat if you want. The headers are really worth the money for what you get. If you want them you are better off doing the better mods first.

Zabteck sells the Random Tech stuff but that is not the reason I am recommending them. I really think the Y-Pipe is great especially the way you are going. ;)

Also, look into the C&L Mass Air Flow meter housing.

On the pulleys, I have all the available pulleys and gobs of electronics. HIDs, 800watt stereo, laptop, Xbox, and e-fan, and I don't have any problems (also have a Yellow Top, though, something you may want to look into).

Short note, JBA headers are not worth it, yet. Once your exhaust is fully done, they may be (I'm looking into getting them this summer). You'll likely not notice a max power increase, but you'll likely see a shift in the HP/TQ curves giving you more HP in the usable RPM range.

I would also recommend the Y-pipe from Zabteck, and a hi-flow cat if you don't already have one.

Bryan,

By removing the stock muffler you basically got rid of the most restrictive item in your system.....

Changing the pipe to 2.5 inches will help, but not give you 10+ hp.....

Your basically ready for the stage 2 and 3 bolt on mods....

This includes the Larger MAF, Pulleyes, and other exhaust components....

As far as the high mileage with the under drive pulley, it is actually the best thing you can do... It will slow down the wear and tear on the higher mileage parts as you get on the truck.....

The only thing I would change with the pulley is the front timing cover seal.... IF not just lubricate the outside of the pulley relay good and you should prevent a leak....

Thanks for the suggestions. Now I am ready to pull the plug and do something. Had to get caught back up after the TAX man came knocking. Can you list in priority which one of these things I should do next? Like I have said in the past I am not a gear head but like to do things myself. How difficult is the Y-pipe to install? Is this something I should be trying on my own?

When I did the exhaust I did not realize that they had a CAT back kit. Can you get the kit minus the muffler?

Which would provide the most benifit vs cost?

I cannot convey how much I appreciatte all of your help.

Thanks!!! :)

sorry but what do MAC mean while say: Magna flow muffler ( not complete kit), thats mean if i buy on parts first muffler, then tips, etc, etc.

regards

Eduardo, it means that instead of buying the complete exhaust kit (which includes everything from the muffler to the tailpipe) he ONLY purchaed the muffler and left the original pipe on the truck.. This is what i am thinking about doig because it is less expensive and there is no power gain by changing out the rest of the pipe.
