Just drove by Briarwood Ford in Ann Arbor and they have a new 07 ST out front.

I know that job one was only about a week ago - seems pretty quick to have them in showroom already.

Anyone else have them show up at their dealers?

Comments wanted - I have thick skin!

ps - diamond texture on bed rail caps was afterthought - they had to scrub the tool and add texture just before x-mas because VO said they were getting scratch problems at factory - texture is to hide scratches but outter edge of texture is a bit rough - they had to cut edge wall into tool by hand... I don't think it will help scratches in plastic but my hand was FORCED! Texas show truck did not have texture...

pss - new headlamp lens is showing up on production Explorers and ST - look for slight recess at top of lens just below hood edge - is for clearance to hood 'overslam issue' does not look as bad as I thought - early production 06 Explorer did not have this.

Hmm...dealers were placing their orders for the past 1.5 months I'll definately check with the local dealer here. Most of them I think, will not get theirs delivered for about another 2 to 3 weeks. Ann Arbor dealerships must have first dibs :D

ps: Do a seach of threads for 07 Sport Trac in the last 60 to 90 days ....many had much to say...

hope you are fully armoured ...and "listen" closely to *those* comments.

;)

GM, I have not checked in for a long time. Been REALLY busy with uh, lets say "future product"...

Lot of less than happy campers here?

I will do search.

Thanks

ps - there would have been an XLS version (low rent) that had a gray grille and no wheel lips (actually had nicer stance - wheels where not burried under the wheel lips) like the XLS Explorer but lower volume projections forced us to cancel XLS and limit ST to two series - both have the EB Explorer nostril chrome grille. Anyone know if the high series is to be called a Limited? - marketing was still working that out last I heard... Nobody tells me anything :) Sometimes I learn more here than I do at work!

X well.... all loves the v8 but, the irs ...many have much to say....

Ijust think there should have been two body styles and a second option for the front grill oh and a few minor things...

I liked it in Dallas...however shame on Ford for rolling out an ST w/out the rear window ;)

and I know it is being put back in at some point.

Yes, do the search and don't take it personal it's good info as you know. :)

Here are some thread titles to look at:

How many of you are struggling with a 2007 trade-in debate?

2007 Trac and no LSD

and oh this one:

How Ford and GM Can Get Back On Track

Can't wait to see them at one of the dealers near me. Drove through yesterday just to check, nothing yet. Did check out the Explorers just to look at the front end, interior, etc. In the show pictures of the ST the wheels/tires look a bit small (narrow) to me. They look fine in person on the Explorer though.

X - any indications as to what is on the list to change for a job 2 so far? I will wait for the rear window, whether it is job 2 or just a late addition.

No doubt there is plenty of debate about the new ST. Curious to see how it changes once it's on the lots where we can touch and test drive. I really think it's going be what I am looking for in the way of changes from my '02 ST.

X,

Would it be at all possible to buy one with a solid rear axle and the current body style.

What was Ford's idea having VW design the front end? Like Ferrari's have Pinfarinna design, I guess Ford is using VW.

x, do a search for "Adrenalin scrapped", and see what comes up...

I like the new ST, and can live with the chrome grille (something else to mod) but the IRS does make it hard go up or down.

When is ford gonna have an off road capible vehicle, i would really like to have me a bronco, so i can show up my friend in his wrangler

Chase-

Ford is considering bringing the Bronco back....too bad it'll be built on a car (Fiesta I think) platform. Not sure what kinda drugs are getting around Ford these days, but damn, it's bad; real bad.

Chase, I am very specifically the one person who "knows nothing" about that topic.

Tiger, much less drug use where I work now - over that last few months anyway. Yeah, don't worry about drug use here now...

X,

Know anything about the 4-Trac concept? Anything like that coming to the states?

Back to the subject... a couple of '07 STs in Northern VA. Looked at one so far. Liked what I saw. No ads though. Will definitely stop by for a test drive as soon as a V8 arrives.
