New Stereo

Just put in a new JVC reciver form wal-mart. My 6 disk just stopped working one day. My problem is that the new one wont save my settings. Anyone ever see this type of thing?

Is it not saving them while the truck is on, or is it losing them when you turn the truck off? If it loses them when you turn the truck off, it sounds like the "always on" power wire didn't get connected to an "always on" power source.

Yea it is when the truck is off? Guess i have to look at the wire setup again...thanx

there's 2 power lines for the stereo - 12 V constant, and 12 V switched. The switched is used to turn on and off with the truck, the constant supply is for memory settings.



if you tapped only the 12V switched: [truck switched + stereo switched + stereo constant], or reversed them: [Stereo switched + truck constant] & [stereo constant + truck switched] you would get the behavior you described - works fine until you turn it off.
