Sorry so long...Just need to vent.
So I was woken up this morning around 645am by my wife yelling from the basement that something is leaking water-A LOT. So I of course jump out of bed and run downstairs and it sounds and feels like i'm standing in a rainstorm. From the back wall of my basement to about 18-20 ft back the entire ceiling is just soaked and dripping water down like mad. I start yanking the insulation out of the way to see what pipe could have burst and I can't find any. Over the weekend my dad and I ran some new plumbing and worked on finishing up my kitchen so I thought maybe one the pipes didn't take to getting sweat to well. Everything was dry. Then it hits me-we had moved my fridge and disconnected the icemaker and reconnected it when we put it back. Well apparently we didn't hook it back up right or something because the hose popped of and water was just flowing out of it. So I shut off the valve and cleaned up the kitchen and just hoped for the best in the basement and headed off to work where things just went up from there. Around noon I found out I had a mandatory managers meeting at 6pm tomorrow. Okay. But I'm off. Well, it's mandatory. I'll get paid, fed dinner but it's gonna be a 2-3 hour meeting. Now about 515 I start to get ready to go home because the person closing my department comes in at 530. 530 rolls around-no one, 545, 5, 615. I decide let me call her this is very unlike her. I call her and she tells me she told my manager yesterday she wouldn't be in. I worked with him all day and he never said anything to me once about it. So I had to leave the department in the hands of 2 17 year olds so I can go home and settle my water problem. When I get home my wife was already home. She was expecting a pot rack that she oredered online and was supposed to be delivered today. Our UPS guy usually comes late like 530-630 so we checked online and it said it was dropped off at 153pm. We look on the back porch-nothing. Hopefully my neighbor saw it and decided to take it in for us since he's a nice guy like that but I can't get a hold of him. I'm pretty mad that they would leave a package on my front porch without a signature, and I'm sure it was a large package as the pot rack is approx. 34" long and weighs 23 lbs. But until I call and report it missing I gotta talk to my neighbor. Finally I get the icemaker hooked back up and find it's still leaking at the nut. So no icemaker for me. And the topper-the Yankees lost their fourth in a row and look pretty terrible. A-Rod is having such a great April hitting and fielding maybe they should find out if he can pitch. Couldn't be any worse that what they got now.
To sum it up:
Rain Forest now open in my basement.
Meeting on my day off.
Left my store and department in disarray to a couple 17 year olds.
Missing package from UPS.
Icemaker still leaks.
The Yankees are TERRIBLE.
Any suggestions with what I should do if my neighbor doesn't have my package? What lengths will they go to find it? Will I have to fill out a police report because it was taken off of my porch(maybe)? It was a couple hundred dollar rack. Just wondering what they do to solve the problem. Thanks for your help.
