Washington, D.C. - Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.) Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, commented on the Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) plan to propose a Tier 3 rule on vehicles in March and finalize it in October. These Tier 3 standards will cause gasoline prices to rise up to 25 cents a gallon.

I am disappointed but not surprised to learn that the Obama-EPA is moving forward with yet another regulation that will cause prices to go up at the pump. This regulation, the Tier 3 standard, will raise gas prices up to 25 cents a gallon on every American, Senator Inhofe said. The Obama regulatory assault on affordable energy continues. This is the last thing hard working American families need.

EPA does not have to do this: its Tier 3 standards are entirely discretionary. Furthermore EPA is not moving forward in an open and transparent manner, to the point that a bipartisan group of senators joined this month to ask EPA to address the many problems with its Tier 3 rulemaking process.

Once upon a time, President Obama vowed not to raise the gas tax until the economy recovers. If this is what he calls economic recovery, we are in big trouble.

Inhofe is trying to hype his book. He has a book out that is called "The Hoax" Which is discounting global warming. He is a major proponent of drilling for oil and is a Republican Senator from Oklahoma. Pure politics here... has nothing to do with a "gas tax" or "raising gas prices 25 cents a gallon fo every American"

This is Inhofes opinion. Nothing more.- And we all know that politicians' opinions are always spot-on right?? Come on Rich.

Frank,

I just posted the article as it was written. Your opinion is noted, but that does not mean YOUR opinion is right either? I'm not sure how supporting or opposing a gasoline tax hike will help sell Inhofe's book? He is also the chairman of the Senate Environmental Protection Committee and the link I posted takes you directly to that source for the article.

Only time will tell and in March the first gasoline tax hike is supposed to kick in and the full gasoline tax hike is scheduled to be implemented in August. So I guess we will all just have to wait and see.

If we quit giving our money to people that hate us and develop our own energy and get the price of a gallon of gas down to 2 bucks the economy would take off.
