Mine does the same thing but doesn't bother me. It keeps from hurting your "cold" speakers and makes them last longer. I think it may be the "COMP" setting. (off the top of my head) Try pushing the "COMP" button (one of the radio preset buttons) and see if it still does it.;)
 
I think it may have to do with the auto-up,down adjustment for road noise, also, as this is a new feature on the new ST? Just a thought,,,,,,,

My '03 with single CD/cassette player/AM-FM Radio has that reset feature. Somewhere in the book I remember reading that it resets to a lower level when turned off.



My wife's '02 Explorer with the 6 disk has the feature for road noise but the older single disks

do not.

does anyone know if the 6 disc changer and the single disc changer are the same size , just bought a '02 ST w/ the pioneer 6 disc changer, but does not seem to work. Only got one cd loaded, all other slots it shows a "CD error" and will not load a cd in these slots. This is why I have never like the multi disc players, they tear up .
