OEM Stereo Question

O.K., we're playing an ebook in our CD player. When we turn the engine back on the sound sets itself back down to about 3, and we have to turn it back up every time. Any ideas what could be going on? :huh:

That is a safety feature so you don't scare your self if you leave it up loud....

Mine does the same thing but doesn't bother me. It keeps from hurting your "cold" speakers and makes them last longer. I think it may be the "COMP" setting. (off the top of my head) Try pushing the "COMP" button (one of the radio preset buttons) and see if it still does it.

I think it may have to do with the auto-up,down adjustment for road noise, also, as this is a new feature on the new ST? Just a thought,,,,,,,

Cubber, Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check the manual, but since we have an '01 Job 2 I really don't feel that feature was offered at that time. BTW, we have the singel CD/ cassette player/ AM-FM radio.

My '03 with single CD/cassette player/AM-FM Radio has that reset feature. Somewhere in the book I remember reading that it resets to a lower level when turned off.



My wife's '02 Explorer with the 6 disk has the feature for road noise but the older single disks

do not.

does anyone know if the 6 disc changer and the single disc changer are the same size , just bought a '02 ST w/ the pioneer 6 disc changer, but does not seem to work. Only got one cd loaded, all other slots it shows a "CD error" and will not load a cd in these slots. This is why I have never like the multi disc players, they tear up .

I have an 02 with the single cd and it has always lowered the volume when you turn off the vehicle.
