So I reading along, and then I was like "Todd Z is on the SCCoA boards too??" I had just read the forums over there before coming over here and started with your post..lol.. I hate emissions testing... I hope it never comes down my way, although I will have Magnaflow Cats on my SC.. Not that I am worried...

This is they very reason I have collector plates on my 99 Cobra (its black...blksn8k..get it?). It is exempt from E-Check.

Todd,

OBD-II was required in 1996 to present. Some cars were partly OBD-II complient in 1995/1994, but from what I understand, OBD-II officially started in 1996.

My present vehicle is a Lexus RX model (SUV) and it is all wheel drive with a locking rear axle to boot. I don't think they could roller test it even if they wanted to.

It does have the OBD system, I was just thinking about it as I re-read the post....

Hmmmm

Tom,

94-96, either way, thats the break point....

Kevin,

under the hood of your truck you should have a sticker that says either emissions testing, this vehicle is dyno exempt, or a warning sticker about the 4wd...

Todd,

My brothers Avenger was only partly OBD-II compliant. Some functions worked, while mose did not. OBD-II was not officially in operation until 1996. In Ohio, and I would think it would be safe to assume in all states, OBD-II testing is only required on 1996 and newer cars only.

The funny thing is that I had a car fail on the dyno, but pass on the OBD-II plug in test.
