Hello-

I need to change my oil and am looking to cut down the infamous rattle.

Should I use Synthetic?

What oil have you folks had good luck with?

2002, 73,000 -

To my knowledge, standard oil and 87 octane gas has always been used.

Thanks

Jim

I use Motorcraft 5W30 that I get from Walmart. (2.09 a quart) And it is synthetic blend. I've used the Mobil 1 and haven't seen a differance exept in price. I also run 89 or mine sounds like a deisel going uphill or anytime it is under alittle load. ('03 ST);)

Royal Purple 10W30. Runs smoother and I'm getting 18 mpg versus around 16 on dino. All heavy traffic city driving. Changed it last time around 7K. Think I will go 8 or 9K this time. In NY you should maybe stay with 5W30. It's overkill here in the southern states though.
