Oil Change

Hi,



I just changed oil on my 2004 ST, since this was the first time of changing the oil under my ownership, i decided to do it myself. Well, i think that i only drained like 4 quarts. But i put in like 4 and half quarts.



So, how much do you guys usually put it?

And, when do you guys check the amount of oil, when the engine is running or when it is off?

Did you change the filter?



That is where the extra oil is at.

Yeah, I did. That makes sense then since i didnt empty the filter.

5 quarts with the filter change. Pour some in the filter before putting it on. It will build pressure quiker on first startup. Then check the oil level after shut down, motor off. Give it time to drain back to the pan.
