Most all auctions that say "Contact the sellers before you bid" are bogus. Most are all the same, some out of state person wanting you to wire money directly to them via Western Union. They then take the money and send you nothing. Since it's all done outside of eBay there isn't much you can do about getting your money back. Typically when I see such auctions I check the sellers account. If it looks like a small buyer account, then I assume a hijack and I send the seller email asking if the auction is legit. Also, I send a warning to eBay about the auction.
I have closed down several fraudulent auctions this way.
P.S Telltale signs of a hijacked account are the seller asking you to contact them via an email address that's dissimilar from the auction id; and a seller eBay location in the US, but the request that the wire funds get sent overseas.
