What 538 didn't factor in is what happened BEFORE 2008. After nearly every eight year run there has been a change in which party takes the Presidency. You might assume that the American electorate is very fickle but the truth is that we know power corrupts.
And don't be surprised if in two years there is another Congressional reset.

True. Very rarely has the White House stayed under the same party for three elections in a row. Last was George H.W. Bush in 1988 after Reagan won in 1980 and 1984. Prior to that you have to go back to FDR and Harry Truman and that was before the 22nd Amendment limiting Presidents to two terms.

Hmmm. FBI Director James Comey was fired yesterday. Of course the liberal media is trying to spin this to say the only reason Trump fired him was because of the Russian hacking witch hunt, oops, I mean investigation.
I think the real reason is that Comey lied to Congress by grossly exaggerating the number of emails that Huma sent to her ex's laptop. He probably did that to cover up his own decision to re-open the Hillary email investigation in October which is probably one of the reasons she lost.
The stupid liberals should be happy he got canned.

The timing is very fishy, however. Same with Yates.
If you listen to the liberal media, they are creating all their suspicions with no actual evidence....That's exactly what they claimed Trump did when he said his offices were bugged by the FBI. Trump's suspicions have been confirmed based on the surveillance by some governmental intelligence agency that some Trump cabinet appointees was done during the campaign and Yates had been advised of suspicious activities of Michael Flynn (former National Security Adviser).....so I can only assume that Trump and even his family members were under some level of surveillance.
In the end it is all politics as usual. That is why I think this country needs to ban political parties, ban any contributions to elected officials running for office and any one running for political office must run as an independent candidate with no allegiance or influence from outside sources. Political parties are just another "Special Interest Group" that has polarized and paralyzed the nation.
