Am looking for a orbital polisher. Would like input as to what you may own, or may have used that you liked.

Have looked at ones at Griots Garage, Chemical Guys, Rupe, and Flex.

I know there are Harbor Freight orbital polishers, and I own a couple of HF electric tools, and as they are ok, I was just looking for a "good" one, considering the cost of paint.

Thanx

I think cost is relative to how much you intend on using it. My big one 7-8" is a WEN. Not shure if they are still around, it is over 15yrs old. My small one 4", is HF. They both have served me well, thru several vehicles.

I use a Porter Cable 7424XP it's a relatively cheap option for someone who is just doing their personal cars. If I were in the car detailing business I might go with a different model. But I've had this one for years and it's worked well for me.

WELL, be it right, or wrong, I ordered the GRIOT G9 polisher. It is included in what they call: 6" Random Orbital Master Kit. I may order the Griot G8 for detailing. I happens to come with a 2", and a 3" backing plate.

I have 2 F150's, our Sport Track, and a fiberglass boat to take care of. Hope I made the right choice.

I'm definitely not enough of an expert to say. But let us know how it works for you.

I ordered the G9 Orbital polisher from GRIOTS, A-N-D the G8 Orbital Polisher from Griots. I've had the G9 for a couple of days, and finally got to use it yesterday. I worked very well. Was smooth, fairly quiet, and balanced. The thing is ergonomically balanced, and made to fit your hand, and be comfortable.
I bought the master kit, so it came with a few polishes etc, and some Micro- Fiber towels.

I just received the G8 polisher about 2 hours ago. Same design, etc. SHOULD be the same as the one above, I hope. Will have to buy a few pads, as none come with it.

I will order a bag for it, to keep it all in one spot. Will have to do that in a day or so.

PRETTY nice "toys", so far.
