I thought this was really interesting.



It is funny to think that we are concerned with maybe having 500 gigs of storage, and restricted to (at best) 25-50 mbps of internet transfer speeds.



This video puts things into perspective as to how large a computer database can get today.

Oddly, I now work in HP/Compaq's DataCenter in Houston TX, it is HUGE, this Data Center alone did 9 billion in business last year, one of our customers is the Bank of India, ING Investments, Bearing Point and some others,

there is currently a even bigger Data Center being built next door to me right now, Bigger and even better, I really like my job it's amazing the scale of these Data Centers

I just wish I could get reliable performance out of my CAD station at work with our 100Mbps network.... sheesh.
