And now, the end is near,

about to trade, my ego hurt'in.

My friend, I'll say it clear,

I'll miss my Trac, of that I'm certain.

Her bed's been full, oh way too full,

she's traveled each and every highway.

And more, much more than this,

I drove her my way.

Yes folks, tomorrow is the trade-in day.

Get the all-weather mats from the Swap and Sell if you want them.

I have cleaned her out, took off the EzPass, gotten all the keys, transponder and original Factory code card around, given her one last wash and detailing (a few tears there, but kind of like making love to an old girlfriend for the last time...you guys know what I mean).

Anyway, she goes tomorrow. Gone.

I will miss her.

I will stick around as long as you guys have me.

Hey Tom,,,,,, what is the replacement vehicle going to be? And YES, you have permission to stick around. They haven't run me off yet and it's been 2 years since we let our trac go:(......

LaRue,

Long story short, my wife and I are moving away from having TWO SUVs that get sub-15 mpg.

I am trading in the ST for her new car, a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica AWD Touring. I will start driving my wife's Mountaineer for the next two months until the lease ends...during that time I am looking for a 5 passenger car that gets around 25 to 30mpg, city. If we do that, between us, we get at least 50% better gas mileage than now, and should keep the same car payments.

Also, the ST is about to go off warranty...another factor.

Its a shame that someone must sacrifice something they love for saving money. But that is life. I have a suggestion to all those that are selling or already sold the Trac. Why don't you post in your profile, your old ST and the replacement in the ST description._Ron

Ron,

It's all a matter of priorities. I love my wife, kids, and other things more. Times are tight too as my wife has gone back to school, 3rd year elementary education. Saving for college for our three kids and putting her through school doesn't allow for two large car payments and over $500/month in gas bills.

I understand Tom, I have given up alot of things for my family. I have a special ed child. You do what you have to do. Love and responsibility, sets things into reality. That still doesn't mean you have to leave. As I said list your new vehicle with the ST. We can still help and conversate._Ron

Besides, TJR,

I see this site sometimes, now as a "Social Gathering Place" where good automotive

advice, usually about Sport Tracs, is given from time to time!!!:D:D:D

(Hey, I'm still lovin' it or I wouldn't be here);)

If you have grey interior can I buy a piece of it before you say bye????????? I need the small cover over the top passenger side seat belt. How bout it, they will never notice.

Thanks,

Peter

I can't imagine getting rid of our ST, but I know that day will come and hopefully not for 4-5 years. Personally I'd get rid of the Mountaineer and keep the ST. Please keep in touch here and by email. My opinion of the Pacifica is that it is just a stationwagon on steroids, but that is just my opinion.

Pacifica is awesome,,, but I want a "300 magnum wagon" or what ever they call it....:lol::lol:

Rose wants a Ford 500............. But for now we're keeping our gas guzzling Expi. NO trade in value at all.

Peter, Sorry, nope, I am not going to be chopping her up. I almost sent her back with two sets of floor mats (all-weather and berber) but realized someone would probably just throw a set out, so the all-weathers are on Swap and Sell.

TJR

Rodger, true, the Pacifica is a wagon on 'roids, but of all the crossovers we drove it was the most car for the price, and 0% financing. I'll post pics.

I just traded in my 03 this past weekend and got a decent amount for it too. We ended up with an 05 Odyssey Touring addition w/ 25k miles on it. I missed the track before I signed the papers for the van.

Marc

I feel for you- I have been Trac-less for a while, but if gas stays high the beastly F150 will go....maybe for another Trac:cool:

TJR,

sorry to hear that your losing the trac. Hope to hear from you on here still (as long as you dont become one of those bitter Trac haters once you leave).. hahaa

Big D, I won't become a Trac hater. I love the truck and always will (3.5 hours to trade-in). I have been critical of Ford and some of the quality aspects of the truck, but it is (was) still the best truck and the most fun vehicle I have ever owned.
