What do we expect from the land of anti-corporate, no personal responsibility liberals we know and love as "California"??? (sorry for the partisan hackery...okay, I guess I'm not sorry)....let the fur fly boys...

I don't recall anyone forcing people to smoke either, and the tobacco industry was sued.

Rocks

I wonder if their AG, intends to give up the family car. Also in his position the state furnished ride..

Everything about Commiefornia makes me sick. The only good thing I can think about it is, it gives all the wackos a place to stay instead of mixing in with the rest of the country. Yes, I know there's some good people there, some.

What will happen if the auto makers show proof that they met California State emissions standards? Can they then sue the state, for poor standards and for a "shakedown" lawsuit?

Take all the cars away from CA. It will help with pollution AND make it harder for any of them to come to other states.

I think maybe Arnold has been sniffing or drinking too much E-85 lately...

The tobbaco companies were sued for not disclosing the evidence they had regarding the hamfull effects of smoking and were preying on children in their advertisements.

That reminds me: On September 17th I officially celebrated my 20th year of non-smoking. I quit cold-turkey on September 17th 1986 and have not smoke a cigarrette since.

I would encourage anyone who smokes to make every effort to stop...If I could have helped my wife stop, perhaps she would not be going on her second year of chemo-therapy and radiation treatments. Perhaps my brother would not have died of lung cancer at the age of 52 and my mother would not have died from emphazima.

...Rich

STOP bashing all Californians. I don't bash or critisize any other state. In my opinion ALL politicians are full of crap, not just in California. This is a beautiful state. The politicians, of both parties, have sold it down the drain.

BTW, there is NO E-85 sold in California that I am aware of.

Sorry, Rodger, I don't think anyone is meaning to bash "ALL" Californians. Whenever I speak ill of any of them I am only directing my comments to the ones that are self-centered and full of crap...the fact that that accounts for a large percentage of them isn't my fault! ;)

Roger is correct -- California is a beautiful state, and it is impossible to sterotype the people of of any state, let alone the most populous state in the US.

I lived in California about 10 years of my life. California does have its own culture. I'm not saying it in a bad way, but Native Californians on average are a bit different. I don't know anyone from LA, but my experiences are from San Diego and the Santa Barbara/Santa Maria area. I have visted LA and San Francisco, but don't claim to know people there. My best friend is from San Jose, and he is much like my friends from San Diego and Santa Maria.

For the most part, I find them very friendly, but when you get to know them you'll start to notice a few things. Their political views are more liberal than I'm used to. They will vote for anyone if they believe they can make a difference, regardless of whether they have political experience (Ronald Reagan and Arnold are prime examples). They seem to be a little more adventurous. Examples: scuba diving, bungee jumping, older folks riding motorcycles, skinny-dipping, open marriages, etc. Some of the "hippie" lifestyle still lives in them. I'm not saying all of them, but a good portion of the ones I know.

Nelson, that's why they call it the "land of fruits and nuts!"...don't shoot the messenger, I didn't make that up.

Many Californians march to the beat of a different drummer.

It will be a dark day if CA wins that lawsuit.

In the meantime, the many millions of dollars that will go to legal fees in this case will show up in the MSRP or monthly lease payment of your next car purchase.

Good Call Rich. What is this lawsuit going to accomplish? All it is going to do cost more to the taxpayers and consumers. Don't the citizens have a say in this? (being that they are going to finance this debacle) That is bad news.

California native and proud of it. You have to travel this state to really know what you're talking about. Some places in the Central valley feel like Texas, just country music, Bush supporters, and pickup trucks; friendly people. San Francisco is absolutely liberal, eclectic, but still friendly for a big city. LA? No comment - I live in NorCal.

We have the 6-10th largest economy in the world - twice as big as Russia, so if CA sues the automakers, they are at least going to listen.
