Since cops and evil corps seem to be topics of much debate, I figured a story about an "Evil Corporation" vs. "Dead Cops" might be worthy of discussion...

...Read and comment please:

I never liked Texas Roadhouse anyway. Now I'll be sure to not go there. I like the letter that the officer wrote.

I never knew they were a nationwide chain. I have one close to my house that I visit once or twice a year I can give that up...

Yeah, Fast Eddie, the only thing "Texas" about "Texas Roadhouse" is the name.

Same with "Lonestar Steakhouse"...both are pretty sucky chains, IMHO.

Texas Roadhouse is the newest restaurant to come to my area (the closest city that is about 2 hrs away). It has been there for about a year and I must say that I like it. Maybe its just because its something new or different but I thought their food, specifically having your choice of side dishes, was good. Also it is the only place in the state that I know of that you can get real sweet tea like they have down south, and I absolutely love sweet tea. I probably will continue going there as it seems like the big issue here was with that particular manager. I am, however, going to try to look into this more to help me make a decision. I am pretty sure my Chief Deputy has a friend with the Fairfax PD or maybe it was Fairfax County but either way I am going to tell him about this and have him ask. I really like the officer's "apology" letter that was really well done. I remember hearing about this officer shooting but not about the issue with the restaurant. I would like to continue to eat there but if I find that the company itself supports that managers actions I will certainly not do so because that is just stupid.

We tried a Lonestar Steakhouse a few months ago on a trip and thought that it was terrible.

Most of these types of stories arise from stupid mid level managers who don't have the brains or tactfullness necessary to deal with the public. Usually there is another side of the story that never gets reported.

I suspect the local manager's but was on the line because of the dramatic drop in business. his boss probably did not want excuses so the manager had to try to recoop some of his losses rather than explain what had accured to his superiors. Perhaps the brass were annoyed that he had excessive false alarms at his resturant so he devised the plan to get his fines suspended.

I doubt that this incident is any corporate policy, just the stupidity of a single manager who probably is no longer employed there. Big companies like that will usually appologize for the stupid actions of their employees. They don't want the bad press.
