For those that missed the writeup in Hot Rod, here is what you can do if you really want a Ford muscle car of yesteryear, but with modern-day safety and convenience...BUILD YOUR OWN...

Several aftermarket companies offer similar cars. Southern Motors or somewhat is offering a 'brand new' truck that looks like a '50s something Ford truck. Or is it Chevy? Either way, same deal.

Those type of companies have been around for several years. Factory Five, Superformance, Year One, the company that builds the Eleanor Mustang, etc. I'd rather have them build me a muscle car as Ford, Chevy or Dodge would screw it up.

I saw that car last year at the Detroit Autorama. Very professionally done. They even used the dash from the 03 Mustang. The inner fender aprons, front suspension, rack and pinion steering, IRS, everything was installed in the 65 body. Beautiful execution.

Or, you can get the ultimate:

A new, "65" Shelby Cobra 427 S/C. Completely authentic, with a documented CSX serial number and MSO signed by the man, Carroll Shelby.
