Thanks for the input guys, I ended up with a Springfield xd-9 purchased from my local gun shop/range. They had one that they rented my wife and I to put a few rounds through and it felt good so we ended up taking a new one home.

Just thought I'd give you guys a thanks for all the info it really helped.

Since the shop is also the range, they gave me 5 free entrys to the shooting range, so we plan to go a few times before we move.

I have the XD 45 . .nice . .the 45 is heavy though . .My wife has a xd subcombact 9 and loves it but might get her Kahr as they are smaller

but might get her Kahr as they are smaller

My boss just got the Kahr 45 and loves it. Course he had to come bragging about it and getting his CCW (we're both big into firearms).

He said the Kahr points and holds well. Recoil control is managable but not as good as his XD-45 (heavier gun=less felt recoil).

I'm hoping next week we will have some time to get out and put some rounds though it. It's a busy time right now at my house.

Shek:

Good deal . .I took my wife down to the shop here and showed her the Karh 9mm subcompact and she loved it. That thing is sooo small and light. The only issue I have is the capacity. I can't remember if it is 5 or 6 rounds. Her practicing target shooting should relieve my worry on that though.

I highly recommend the Springfield XD Line to anyone. They are great guns. A little heavy but an excellent firearm.

Does anyone know a place online to order some smaller capacity mags? Or should I just get them from the shop we bought it from? It's my understanding they aren't too much right ~$20? I'd like to stay away from ebay...
