While driving, you attempt to beat a freight train and drive around the gates. Thanks to a miscalculation on your part, the train collides with your car and crushes your body. Your car (and your lifeless body) continue to be pushed for several hundred feet until the train comes to a stop.

Oh Tiger, I get where your coming from. I guess it all depends on the environment. I was born and raised in Carol City, really rough and nasty. Lived there for 18 years, it makes your mindset totally different when you have to walk to the store and make sure you have a weapon on you because you fear for your life daily. In most cases where a gun is pulled over there, it's used. That's why my instinct would be kill or be killed. Didn't mean to sound like a moron, that's just how I grew up.
