...and the ST took us there. We rented a cabin in Dingman's Ferry, North of the Poconos in the Delaware Water Gap area. We hiked in state lands, saw lots of water falls, caught up on games with the kids, and just enjoyed each other and nature...

...and here is the ST parked outside of the cabin:

Glad you had a good time. The wife and I are renting a cabin in 2 weeks in Pigeon Forge, TN. We took the Fusion when we went in July, going to be taking the Sport Trac when we go this time.

The cabin was GREAT. Three bedrooms and a loft to sleep 7 comfortably (we only have 5), a great room with huge fireplace, a wood stove, big back porch, DirectTV and lcd projector, washer, dryer, dishwasher....oh and there was even a 2nd out building (a mini cabin of sorts) with two "lookouts" for the kids to play in.

I found the listing off of craigslist and we will probably go back again next fall.

TJR,

Holler next time. I am quite familiar with the area, and most of Northeastern PA. Of course, you're only down the pike, so you may be as familiar. :)

I never realized how close you are. I grew up in the Wilkes-Barre area, and am now in Wynnewood, just past (and west off of the exit south of) the 476/76 interchange.

Just cant beat spending that type of time with the family. My wife and I have been in that area "waterfall hunting" a couple of times. Anytime we drive south we take RT209 to get of the interstates for a while. It is such a nice drive and doesn't add much time to the trip. It's nice that most of the waterfalls there are easy access so you can do many of them in a day. The whole hike at Bushkill Falls is nice but can be crowded. Our favorite waterfall in that area was the lower one(s) at Raymondskill (sp?) where the little waterfall comes in from the side stream near the big one. The second time we were there it was a perfect waterflow. Silverthread falls, the really tall skinny one, and the other one on the same path (cant recall the name right now) is nice too. We are hoping to do a central PA waterfall trip in a couple years.

Anyone looking for a great cabin rental check out "Burners Mountain Lodge" in Luray Virginia, our stay there was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable times in my life.

Adam...I up just up the street from you in Ardmore. My wife drives my ST most of the time since she only drives a few miles a day.

Oh... and the cabin does look really nice!!

I lived in northern NJ in the early 80s and drove that way many times on my way to college at the Univ. of Scranton. Saw my first wild black bear and only heart shaped bathtub when my girlfriend and I stayed at a Poconos retreat for a weekend. I also remember being so broke I once had to bum a quarter to cross the bridge over the Delaware.

Dingman's Ferry is an area, north of the Poconos in the Delaware Water Gap area.:lol:
