I just purchased the overhead console for my Sport Trac on eBay but it does not come with the temperature sensor. Anyone know of where I can purchase this? Can I get it at an auto parts store? Thanks.

Yeah I read that...Ford would have to order it and it will be a week before it's in stock. I was planning on doing the installation this weekend so I was wondering if anyone knew of an over the counter temp. sensor or if it will work.

Michael.

Installing the temp sensor is about a 52 second job. It's not as hard as it seems.

Just run the wiring behind your grill in front of your radiator. Order the part from Ford (I think they quoted me $17.95, really not sure about that) and once you get it in, all you will have to do is plug the little guy in. Easy as that.

This way you can still run your wiring and be about 94.823% done by the end of the weekend! Let me know if you have any questions on how to rig it, or, of course, refer to any of the projects here.

Hey, does anyone have an overhead console or know where i can get one? my interior is that silver gray color... I didnt see any on ebay, and my screen is gone bad..

I recommend that you order it from Ford and install everything except the sensor. When the sensor comes in, do the one-minute installation and you are done.

$17-$18 for a new part is not worth what a junkyard would charge you for something that may be on it's last leg anyway. That's the kind of part that you buy new not used. When Ford stops selling them and they are not an aftermarket item, then you may have to resort to the junk yard as a last resort.
