I've been meaning to ask this question and just haven't gotten around to it.

Is there a different size filter that will fit on my 2001 job 2 ST. What I'm wanting is a larger oil filter for the obvious benefits of more oil in the system meaning longer oil life etc.

Some have added a second filter. I dont recall anyone using a larger filter. It would have to be a longer filter I think, maybe something like a tractor filter.

raym2,

Larger filters do not extend the oil life....Higher quality filters do. You will also need to use a quality synthetic oil to insure the oil will last longer.

A larger filter might add less than a 1/2 quart more oil...not much of an improvement.

You might want to consider using dual remote oil filters, coupled with 2 high quality filters and you will add about an extra quart of of oil. With double the filter capacity and use a good quality synthetic oild and you could easily go 15K-20K miles between oil changes.

My Job 1 has a gigantic filter as it is.

I think the Job 2 filter is smaller, but it is still rather large as compared to filters on many other 6-cylinder engines -- like the one in my wife's Toyota Sienna minivan.

I wouldn't worry much about getting a bigger filter.

I know. I already use Amsoil with an Amsoil filter and have contacted them on this subject also, with no real answer. What I was trying to do was get a little more oil in the system without spending the, in my opinion, overpriced tag they want for a bypass kit. I guess if thats what I want to accomplish I'm gonna have to cut loose with the cash.

raym2,

I agree that Amsoil's prices for their bypass kits and dual remote filter kits are crazy !!

Do a Google search on "Dual Remote Oil Filters" and you will find several companies that sell complete kits with hoses for $45-$85 without the filters. You could buy a compatible Amsoil filters to fit the new dual filter unit and you will have increased your oil capacity by about 1 quart.
