My dad was diagnosed with it about 7ish years ago. He died 2 1/2 years ago but from a untreatable blood disorder.

We did not get far enough into the Parkinson's issue for it to be an issue.

Sorry I have no more info for you.

Best of luck...

gary s, my brother-in-law just passed away last Nov. He suffered quite a few years with it. He was a big strapping man in his prime and it reduced him to a shell on a man. He could think ok, but he couldn't get the words out, and he had that shuffle most get. He had some treatments, but they didn't do much. He was 76.

My uncle has it. So far, about 1 1/2 years. He is doing good. It is progressing slowly, but he has good insurance through the Carpenters Union, so he will be taken care of.

Gary,

My father-in-law is currently fighting the disease. He has had it for about 5 years now and I have witnessed its progression, especially over the past 3 years. He has been to several doctors, taken MANY different medications and had different reactions to all of them. Some good, some bad, some work for a while, some work for only a few days. The thing about Parkinson's is that it can affect different people in different ways. One of my father-in-law's friends has it as well, and has had it as long as he, but you'd never know it.

If you need more info, or just want to talk to someone about it, please feel free to e-mail me.

My grandfather we think has the starting of it. Right now we are dealing more with my grandmother who has alzheimers. We also have a man that comes into work everday at 9:30 Am, he goes to the bathroom and then drives to the mall to walk the perimeter. He comes back at 1:30 for the bathroom. He does this everday.
