The 10th annual Petit LeMans will be next Saturday at Road Atlanta. I usually camp out Thursday through Sunday. I wanted to see how many other Trac'rs might be planning on attending.

The race is 10 hours or 1000 miles long, whichever comes first. The race always ends in the dark, which makes for a great event. Practice starts Wednesday and all of the support races are Friday which includes the Star Mazda series, Speed Channel World Challenge, Porsche GT3 Cup, and IMSA Lites.

It is a lot of fun and there is quite a variety of cars to see.

Hope to see some of you out there.

Yep...I go every year and I went to the Rolex races in Birmingham in July. My father was crew chief for one of the Hyper Sport Mustangs in the GS class. They were up to 5th and ended up in 23rd.

Here is a way to ruin your weekend:

[Broken External Image]:

The weekend was great once the rain stopped. The picture above was taken after a restart in the Star Mazda race. He hopped right out and was ready to fight. The Speed World Challenge race got interesting when a torrential downpour broke out and took out half of the field because no one had rain tires on. The rest of the racing was great and the finish was down to the wire after nearly 10 hours of racing.

I have more pics I will be loading up. I have to resize them as they were all taken at over 2mb per pic.

I saw several STs at the track, so I don't know if it was any of us. The was one nice Gen 1...white with silver racing stripes.
