Does the D3 still use nav discs or have it on hard drive like the z1?



Looks like it only has one disc slot.

Well, at least an upgrade from the D-1 and D-2. They play DVD.



With the lack of this video stating anything about a hard drive I would doubt that it has one. This would have been definately mentioned if it had. Looks like the D-3 is a better option than the prior D's, however, I still prefer the Eclipse AVIC 5435 I purchased for my rig.

The Z1, soon to become the Z2, is the only Pioneer navigation unit with a hard drive.

and the Z2 is only a software upgrade to the Z1, wait for the Z3 to come out.
