Well the wife and I went to Jamaica on our last vacation (October). We are planning our next in a month or so. We have a toddler who will be 2 in April so if we fly it will be before his b-day to save that ticket price one more time. The resort we went to in Jamaica was great offering all inclusive with a nanny. Don't care to go back to the same destination so we're browsing. Kinda want to stay tropical considering he will do better on a beach than on a ski slope.

We're in GA and don't mind driving or flying. Any suggestions or do not go here warnings? Thinking bahamas or mexico or something like that. Thanks in advance.

Ever taken a cruise? I thought they were goofy until I went on a Carnival cruise to the eastern Caribbean and then a Norwegian cruise to the western Caribbean. I preferred the eastern cruise to St Thomas, St Maarten, Grand Cayman etc. It felt less touristy and cheesy than Belize, Cancun, Cozumel etc.

Try the southern Pacific beaches in Mexico.

Talk to a travel agent about Huatulco (wa-tool-co) bays in Oaxaca (oa-ha-ka), there are 9 bays and last time we visited there were 3 full all inclusive resorts (ClubMed, Maeva and I don't remember the other name).

Those bays are beautiful!

Also stayed right on Waikiki beach, awesome! View of Diamond Head and the beach from the room. Go there. Been to Acapulco Mex, Jamaica (Montego Bay) also, Hawaii wins hands down, I mean HANDS DOWN! We stayed at NICE resorts at Mexico and Jamaica too, but Oahu wins, Oh, I already said that. :) Going to Los Cabos real soon, should be able to tell about it before you go.

Stayed here:

Nowadays Acapulco is (IMHO) waaay overrated, if you had gone there 25 years ago it would be great.

Now it's crowded, but the nightlife is goooood ;)

But if you have a small child, I would not recommend it.... Another place near Acapulco, but less crowded is Ixtapa, and has its own airport.

Flight to Hawaii is expensive. We checked into that before we went to jamaica.

Thought about a cruise but more concerned with having my son and bothering other guests. He can crank it up when he wants to. Do lots of people take small children on cruises?

Some cruise lines have more kids than others. Check with a decent travel agent for more info in that regard.

If you're truly wanting a tot-friendly cruise, check out Disney cruise lines. All the adult amenities, but tons of stuff aimed directly at the kids as well.

BillV is dead on. Disney does cruises with the same level of excellence seen at their parks. I have not been on their ships, but every knowledgeable traveller I know who has, raves about them. Pricey sometimes, but excellent.

Me and my wife are heading to Egypt the first chance we get... expensive, but I think it would be something that most people have not done.
